Top 15 Restaurants in Langkawi For The Best Langkawi Food!

1. Langkawi Food – Pizza Hills

Pizza Hills
Image via Pizza Hills

Pizza Hills in Langkawi is a memorable experience you won’t forget anytime soon. Located in the hills of Langkawi, this semi-open shack is connected to Chef Lance’s home, surrounded by jungle, his mini farm, ducks, and a herb garden that features plenty of basil plants.

Once you find Pizza Hills, you’ll be treated to out of the world pizza made with calmness, passion and love, with the finest, freshest, mostly local ingredients. Chef Lance trained as a Chef at a Michelin-star restaurant in France and more, and there are no employee servers, cashiers or dishwashers, except the monkeys in the surrounding trees.

Getting to Pizza Hills is part of the adventure, as it’s located up a short, narrow steep jungle “road” and not on Grab (yet), so finding a local driver who can find it and wait nearby is recommended. Pizza Hills is closed on Mondays, serves dinner only from 4 PM, and advance reservations are essential.

The oven is wood-fired, self-made by Lance, and delivers Pizza perfection at 800 degrees C in a few minutes. They don’t have a menu, but the concept of being asked about what should not be on the pizza is great. You don’t order per person, but you’ll get served more as long as you can eat more of these super yummy masterpieces.

They also have a nice selection of beverages and drinks that you just pick from the two fridges. Beer, wine as well as lots of nice soft drinks, even coconut water – all available. The pizza here is absolutely amazing, some of the best (outside Italy) you’ll ever have. You’ll get made a pizza with local ingredients the chef has available that day, and we highly recommend trying the Margarita pizza with buffalo mozzarella made from local buffalo milk. The owner is super friendly and clearly well-skilled.

Pizza Hills is a hidden gem off the usual roads, but still easy to reach as long as you don’t have a too big car. It’s a bit of a drive to get here, and maybe a bit hard to find, but that to us is all part of the charm. If you want to have a pizza in the Neapolitan style, you just have to come here! Treat yourself with one of these masterpieces, you deserve it. And if you’re a vegetarian, they have Margarita pizza, which is a must-try.

Pia’s the Padi offers a unique dining experience as it is situated off the main road and surrounded by green fields. Although the narrow road leading to the restaurant may be a little tricky to navigate, there is ample parking available. While the view of the padi field may be obstructed by some structures, the table next to the waterfall area offers a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant also caters to vegetarians, which is a plus point.

The sound of water dripping in the background creates a calming atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. The service is friendly and efficient, which is to be expected from a restaurant that strives to present itself as upscale.

The food served at Pia’s the Padi is not bad. The set menu for four is ample, with enough food for five people. While the omelette was ordinary, the rendang was delicious, and the fish was tender and spicy with a kick. The mixed vegetables were also a favourite among customers.

Do note that the prices may be slightly higher due to the restaurant’s location and ambiance. However, the delicious food and unique atmosphere make it worth it. If you are looking for an authentic Malaysian dining experience, Pia’s the Padi is definitely worth a visit.

11. Langkawi Food – HBL Food Corner

HBL Food Corner
Image via HBL Food Corner

HBL Food Corner in Langkawi is a must-visit place for those who are craving for authentic and affordable Malay food. The restaurant is quite popular among locals, so it’s recommended to come early as the queue can be quite long. We arrived at 11 am sharp and the place was already packed with people, but fortunately, there is ample parking space just before the restaurant.

The food at HBL Food Corner was simply amazing. We tried many dishes, and they were all delicious. There were so many options to choose from, and we just went with our gut feeling. One of the must-try dishes is the sambal bilis tempe, which had a unique and flavorful taste that was out of this world. The grilled fish with spices and air asam utara, salted fish curry, asam pedas keladi, pajeri nanas terung are also highly recommended.

However, not all the kuih (traditional Malay cakes) were up to the mark. The kuih ketayap at the side of the counter was very good, but the others were not as impressive. The only downside was that the Teh Tarik (a popular Malaysian tea-based beverage) was not up to our expectations, so we just opted for plain water instead.

Despite the crowds and the slightly small portions, the food at HBL Food Corner is definitely worth the wait. We enjoyed the authentic northern dishes that were served with original taste and at a very reasonable price. Plus, the restaurant’s atmosphere was quite cozy and casual, which added to the overall experience.

Food Paradise Restaurant & Bistro is a hidden gem in Langkawi, and it’s easy to see why. The food is absolutely delicious, and the Pakistani-style Naan and dhaal are particularly noteworthy. The Briyani and tandoori also come highly recommended, and at just around RM 15, they’re a steal.

The restaurant has an impressive variety of food on display, so you’re sure to find something that suits your taste buds. If you’re dining with a group of six people, you can expect to pay around RM100, which is a great deal considering the quality of the food.

Don’t be put off by the location of the restaurant, as it’s located by the street. Once you try the food, you’ll realize that it truly lives up to its name of “food paradise.” The roti canai is a must-try, and it’s the best my husband and I have had in Langkawi for a long time.

The veggie options are also worth trying, especially the daal dishes and paratha. The food is prepared quickly, and everything is fresh and bursting with flavour. You won’t regret visiting this place!

13. Langkawi Food – Western Food Ka’Ka

Western Food KaKa

If you’re looking for a tasty Western-style meal in Langkawi, Western Food Ka’Ka is a great option. The lamb chop comes highly recommended and the service is both friendly and speedy. You’ll definitely want to make this a regular stop on your Langkawi trips, especially since it’s easy to find and park at despite being located in a village.

As for the food itself, expect a typical Malaysian take on Western dishes. The waiting time is around 20 minutes, which is pretty standard. One dish to try is the spaghetti carbonara with bacon and chicken, although it’s not particularly special. The chicken chop is a standout, with a delicious sauce, although it may be a bit too salty for some. The mushroom soup is good as well, with chunky pieces of mushroom, although it’s also a little salty and only comes with one slice of garlic bread (which is tasty, by the way).

Overall, Western Food Ka’Ka is a solid choice for a Western-style meal in Langkawi. The food is good and the service is excellent, making for a pleasant dining experience. Just be prepared for slightly salty dishes and don’t expect anything too out of the ordinary.

Yong Leong Seafood Restaurant is a great spot to enjoy delicious Chinese cuisine in Langkawi. The outdoor seating area is a perfect setting to enjoy good weather while dining with your friends or family. The lanterns around the restaurant create a cozy ambiance, and the small park adds to the relaxing atmosphere.

The menu offers a variety of Chinese dishes, and most of them are well-prepared and served promptly. The sweet and sour chicken is one of the dishes that stood out, and the prawns were fresh and tasty. One of the recommended dishes is the curry prawn, which is absolutely delicious. Additionally, the boss recommends the tofu dish, which is also really nice.

Some other dishes that you may want to try include the chicken and egg fried rice, which is tasty and filling. The Nyonya steamed red snapper is another must-try, with the mint leaf garnish adding a refreshing twist to the dish. The braised pork leg is another tasty dish that you may want to order. Finally, the sizzling tofu and Ti Wang Cai, garlic stir-fried Malabar spinach, are both delicious options that are worth a try.

One minor disappointment was the salted egg squid, which was a bit dry and over-fried. However, the overall quality of the dishes and the affordable prices make this restaurant a great spot to enjoy a Chinese seafood meal. The boss is also very friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to dine at Yong Leong Seafood Restaurant on your next visit to Langkawi!

One of the must-try dishes is their chicken chop or fish n chips with mashed potato and honey lemon tea. According to customers, these dishes are superb and definitely worth trying.

The restaurant serves simple localized Western dishes and the grilled chicken is especially good. The lamb chop is also delicious, although some customers mentioned that the mushroom soup was not available during their visit. Despite this, the food tastes nice and the portions are large, making it perfect for a fulfilling dinner.

Westurn Langkawi is kid-friendly, but the service can be a bit slow. This may be due to the fact that the chef prepares all the menus and sends them at once.
