Exabytes Review: The Pros
Now, let’s see which areas Exabytes are good at.
Great Hosting Plans
First, a variety of hosting services to cater to different customer needs, from individual to large enterprise hosting solutions.
Their wide range of hosting plans including shared hosting, WordPress hosting, cloud VPS, VPS, dedicated server (Windows/Linux), reseller hosting, and managed VMware cloud server.
Exabytes have three shared hosting plans for small to medium websites, whether is a small business website, blog, or e-commerce website.
The prices are reasonable too.
Variety of Web Services
Next, Exabytes offers a variety of website services that complement the web hosting services, such as domain registration, website design, website builder, SEO, digital marketing, email solution, security solution, cloud backup services, and more.
They are a one-stop station for all your website needs, so you don’t have to find separate companies for other services.
Good Uptime Guarantee
Exabytes has a 99.9% Network Uptime and 99.5% Server Uptime guarantees.
If the uptime is below the guaranteed uptime, you can claim for the Outage Event Credit (OEC) according to the difference.
This policy will ensure the interest of both parties.
100-Day Money-Back Guarantee
All hosting plans from Exabytes come with a 100-day money-back guarantee, which is great compared to the market standard of a 30-day guarantee.
The generous money-back guarantee period will allow new customers to try out their hosting services risk-free and have more time to explore the features.
This also shows how confident they are with their web hosting services.
Multiple Customer Support Channels
Having technical issues with your hosting?
Not a problem, Exabytes covered you with 24/7 supports via three different channels, which are WhatsApp, email, and live chat.
The phone support is available from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Exabytes Review: The Cons
Now, let’s see Exabytes fall short in which areas.
Slow Response from Customer Support
While there are multiple ways to reach the Exabytes support team, it will take some time to get a response back, especially for email.
This is quite common in Malaysia (not a good thing), but for services like web hosting, I’d expect a faster response time, especially since the website is generating revenue.
I believe if they can improve the support response time, more customers will be impressed, and they will gain more new customers down the road.
Lack of Attractive Free Tools & Features
The shared hosting plans of Exabytes didn’t come with attractive free tools and features.
In contrast, global web host companies like SiteGround offers a free powerful caching tool, free image optimizer, free CDN integration, and free migration tool.
Higher Price
While I think their pricing is reasonable, some global counterparts do offer more attractive pricing.
For instance, Exabytes cheapest shared hosting plan with SSD costs RM28.59 a month and renew at RM43.99 a month.
On the other side, the cheapest shared hosting plan of Bluehost is priced at RM16.20 per month and renew at RM36.86 per month, and with slightly better features.
Note: If you are intended to create a website with low-traffic and do not mind the slow loading speed, Exabytes cheapest shared hosting plan with HDD only cost RM14.99 a month.
Tip: The SSD (Solid-state disk) is 10x faster than the HDD (Hard-disk drive).
Conclusion: Should You Use Exabytes or Not?
While Exabytes is not the best web hosting globally, they are still the best web hosting company in Malaysia with a local server, office, and customer support.
They are the official partner of MYNIC, which allows you to register for Malaysia TLD – “.com.my”, “.net.my” and “.my”.
Besides, they have long-period guarantees, great hosting infrastructure, and reasonable prices.
So, for Malaysian and Singaporean, Exabytes is among the top choices when comes to web hosting services.
Let’s give them a try!
You won’t lose anything due to their 100 days money-back guarantee.
